Metamelei is an altermodernist art project where nature, humanity, culture, and technology converge in a world parallel to our own. As an artist, I travel to Metamelei, a city that emerged after the rise of the virus and the relentless root growth, standing at the edge of the ancient forest and the sand desert. I observe, study, and document, translating the images and stories of this world into our reality.
Metamelei is a city in transition, built upon the remnants of a lost civilization and shaped by the interaction between humanity and nature. Sustainable homes rise among the trees, market squares buzz with trade and encounters, while temples and the town hall define the foundations of a renewed society. In my drawings, I capture the structures, rituals, and way of life of its inhabitants—from towering buildings adapting to the growing roots to religious ceremonies honoring the cycle of nature and technology.
Through these works, I bring Metamelei into our world. The drawings serve as windows into a place that feels both alien and familiar, a mirror reflecting our own relationship with progress, sustainability, and identity. As a traveler reporting back, the question arises: Is Metamelei a possible future, a forgotten past, or merely a myth reinventing itself over and over again?
Metamelei is not a static concept but a continuously evolving universe that I keep exploring. Each journey reveals new layers, new stories, and new perspectives, translated into our reality through lines and forms.
