Shibari is an in-depth exploration of the harmony between form, light, and shadow. Inspired by the Japanese art of shibari – an ancient discipline where ropes are used to embrace and accentuate the body – this series translates the tension and elegance of bindings into a visually powerful medium. My work plays with contrasts and subtle nuances in texture and linework, creating a unique aesthetic that expresses both vulnerability and strength.
The images capture moments where I try to maintain the erotic aspect as strongly as possible. At the same time, the drawings represent a struggle between recognition and surrealism. This tension ensures that the works balance between figuration and abstraction, between the visible and the felt, challenging the viewer to create their own interpretation.
The core of Shibari consists of original drawings, created with white pencil on black watercolor paper (A4 format). This technique produces sharp, minimalist compositions where form and shadow intertwine, depicting the body in an abstract yet recognizable manner. Each drawing plays with contours and negative space, evoking a sense of movement and tension within an otherwise still image.
These original works are offered in exclusive boxes of five, carefully curated to form cohesive visual narratives.
In addition to the original drawings, there are professional art prints available in a limited edition of 150 pieces per design. Additionally, posters are available, which are not numbered but can be signed by me as the artist upon request.

As an extension of Shibari, I have developed a playful and interactive concept: the Shibari Playing Cards. These collectible cards not only offer a unique way to explore the artwork but also invite a playful and intimate game with your partner(s). By collecting the cards, you assemble a collection of different poses and compositions, allowing you to explore both the aesthetics of shibari and the concept of interaction and collaboration.
My work is a constant study of how form, light, and shadow interact, and how shadow is not merely the absence of light but a powerful element that defines compositions. Shibari is a visual reflection on the sensual tension between line and space, between control and surrender, between visibility and concealment.
With this series, I aim not only to capture the beauty of the body and the art of shibari but also to create a dialogue about intimacy, freedom, and the power of visual suggestion. Each piece invites the viewer to look longer, feel deeper, and develop their own interpretation within the interplay of lines and shadows.
